  First-class trip to Meteora  - My wife and I arranged a trip to the Meteora monasteries with Taxis in Volos (NAK - Volos Transfers and Tours), and we were very glad we did. The communication... read more from Nikos before the trip was excellent, particularly because my email program cleverly sent his original messages into Trash.

We had no trouble finding our driver, Kostas and, with an early start, had a very good drive to the monasteries, visiting St Stephan’s, Varlaam and the Monastery of the Transfiguration (The Great Meteora). The drop-off and pick-up could not have been easier, and the monasteries themselves, their locations, their architecture and their interiors, were astonishing. (Kostas also found the time to return a mobile phone to someone who had dropped it along the way!)

We had a very enjoyable lunch at a local restaurant and a good drive back. Kostas took us on a mini-tour of Volos and even found the Post Office for us so that we could post some postcards. Like most of Nikos’s clients, I think, we were also given a collection of local postcards and a print of an icon painting - a very nice touch.

We had a first-class day, and would have no hesitation in recommending Taxis in Volos to anyone.

  Five stars is not enough to show what an absolutely fantastic day this was! First-the monasteries in Meteora are a sight just not to be missed. The word... read more "amazing" tends to be overused, but these monasteries are truly deserving of this word-the fact they were built and exist where they are is truly amazing and seeing them is a breathtaking experience. And I cannot imagine a better way to see them than with Taxi in Volos. Our guide, Nikos, went above and beyond to insure we had a day we'd remember forever. He made us and the experience he was creating for us his absolute top priority. Nikos is tremendously knowledgeable about the area and its history and told us many fascinating stories related to what we were seeing. Not only did he take us to the monasteries, but he took us to out of the way places and little known vantage points where we could marvel at the sights away from the crowds. He also had a number of "surprise" stops for us-extra little treats along the way-not to mention a stop at a truly local taverna for one of the best lunches we had in Greece. This trip was truly a highlight of our visit to Greece and it's a day we will remember forever. I can't recommend this highly enough.

  We read good evaluations about " Taxi In Volos", the business of Mr Nikos Adamakis, so in our last visit in Volos with the cruise ship Celestyal Crystal, we made... read more a reservation with this company to visit the Meteora. The car, a nice E-Class Mercedes, was waiting us in the port when the ship docked. The driver, Mr Adamakis himself, was very friendly, very fluent in English ( better than me ! ) very proud of his country, and knows everything about the monasteries.....including hidden places that cannot be reached with the busses ! We also spoke about Greece, economics, social, education.... We finished the tour in Makrynista, the nicest village of Mount Pelion, close to Volos. The quality of service is far higher than standard bus tour organised by the cruise company, for a price just a little bit higher ( when you are two people ; if you are three, you win because the price is by car, not by Pax !). Meteora visit is not the only service provided by Taxi In Volos..... We deeply suggest having a talk with Mr Adamakis before any trip in the Volos / Thessaloniki area.

  Everything was perfect for our trip from Larissa to Volos. Nikos was on time, very friendly and even made a stop for us to have breakfast!!!

  This was probably the best transfer from airport to accommodation I’ve ever had. Within 3 minutes of stepping off the plane we were in the taxi! Our driver had spotted... read more us as quickly as we’d spotted him and led us to his car right outside the airport building. He provided us with water and gave us plenty of tips including where to go and what to eat. He (Nico?) was very helpful and I’d definitely recommend their service. We did find (after having booked Nico) a cheaper taxi firm but I doubt we could have had better service.
